I've been doing themed weeks for myself to keep me better at task. My mind tends to be all over the place most of the time and because I spend so much time looking through stock photos or editing photos, my art usually gets placed on the back burner. Because of that, recently, I started doing themes. By structuring myself in this way, I use one day to pick any stock photos I want to use as well as the concept and story behind it. My art always has a story going on while Im creating it, its like a movie just playing in my mind.
Anyways, this week I decided on Wonderland. My story is much more twisted than the Disney version and I've never read the original, but a few years ago I did read the series "The Looking Glass Wars" which somewhat inspired me on this darker version.
My synopsis for Wonderland:
Wonderland is not the place you remember as a child. The land is in chaos, the Red Queen has put a hefty bounty on the White Queen aka "The White Rabbit". Everyone who is anyone is trying to catch her.
This Wonderland is a place of many secrets, corruption and scariest of all is that magic is easy to come by whether you know how to use it or not. There are many more sketchy characters then there are heroes, not even sure if there is a specific hero... many can be both benevolent as well as have their villainous days.
There will be about 8 pieces to this series, each one giving a little bit more to the story.
I've done four so far...
